Roof Beam Failure
When dry rot is found in a roof beam, it should not be ignored. Like the decay in a tooth, once it is established, it will spread. If left unchecked, the rot can spread throughout the beam and into adjacent framing. In severe cases, localized structural failure (crush or collapse of the framing members) under the weight of the roof can occur.
